Patch visited the Little School in Hawthorne where animator-in-residence Joe Summerhays of Ridgefield, CT, and volunteers Kim Louis of Yorktown Heights, Chelsea Gibbs of Mamaroneck, Marion Swerdlow of Scarsdale and Ryan Camarda of Hartsdale worked one-on-one with students on Wednesday. The students will present their films at a this coming September.
The Minds in Motion program is also taking place at the Boys and Girls Club of Northern Westchester in Mt. Kisco, the Ossining Children’s Center in Briarcliff Manor, the Theodore Young Community Center in White Plains, the PEAK Center in Mt. Vernon and the Elm Street Neighborhood Center in Yonkers. More than 150 students are enrolled in the summer program.
