A Joyous Easter Celebration of Sound

Westchester's newest pipe organ debuts Easter Sunday in Pleasantville.

PLEASANTVILLE, NY, March 22, 2013 – Hundreds of worshippers and guests will gather Easter Sunday morning at Pleasantville’s Emanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church to celebrate the holiest of holidays and to join in the sounds and celebration of the church’s new custom pipe organ.

In a worship filled with spirit and song, Emanuel will witness a rare occurrence in an age of electronics—the sound and feeling of a full, 1,000-pipe, air driven church organ. The result of years of bake sales, donations and fundraisers by Emanuel members, the one-quarter-million dollar instrument will raise the voices and spirits of the Church and its community.

“We are blessed and privileged to bring this new, versatile, powerful voice to our Christian worship,” said Michael Brittenback, Minister of Music at Emanuel. “This new voice will provide music that will resonate throughout the community.”

Emanuel’s music program is widely recognized for its involvement in the Pleasantville community. The church hosts many interdenominational services throughout the year, and promotes combining choirs from other churches in the area to sing for special community services like Thanksgiving and Good Friday, for which the organ is the primary accompanying instrument.

The organ was built and installed by Kegg Pipe Organs, Inc of Hartville, OH.
