Turning Lane Fiasco

For years, many of us On the east side of town have pleaded with the village to put in a turning lane onto 9A from North State Road. You all know the intersection where Squires is. It's a traffic snarl everyday. Cars are backed up past Dunne Lane, spewing emissions as they wait through multiple lights because someone wants to make a left turn onto 9A South. We've been told for years that the Village Manager is "On it". It seems that the available swath of land that could be used for such a lane is owned by the county. We have asked that the Village work with the County to create a turning lane.. This is such a busy intersection. It is obvious something needs to be done. But still, years have gone by... Mrs. Greens, then Starbucks, then Euro Pizza then Value Drug, and don't forget Dunkin Donuts between Squires and UPS . This intersection probably gets more traffic than any other section of Briarcliff. Still nothing happens. So it was with amazed when I recently read in the Gazette, that Ossining has worked with the County DOT to put in a turning lane for rte. 134!!! I don't doubt that there is need for this, but what about the North State Road intersection? We have been hearing for years that the village is working on it. Did they give them the wrong location? Can anyone out there explain this to me? Honestly, I don't get it.
