Briarcliff Neighbors Accuse Each Other of Damaging Cars

Police received complaints from two neighbors, each accusing the other of damaging a vehicle.

A neighborly dispute turned possibly criminal last week, according to the Briarcliff Manor Police Department.

A Schrade Road resident contacted officials at 5:23 p.m. July 22 and told police his vehicle's hood and side had been scratched while parked at his apartment complex.

The resident told police he believed his neighbor, who resides in the same building, was responsible for the damage.

Two days later, the suspect in the first incident contacted police at 1:54 p.m. and said his car had also been damaged. He told police it appeared the side panels of his vehicle had been keyed. The man said he suspected his neighbor had caused the damage.

The criminal mischief incidents remain under investigation.
