Cars Ransacked in Pleasantville: Cops

A camera and jewelry among the items reported missing from local cars.

Multiple vehicles were the targets of larcenies and break-ins in Pleasantville recently, according to the Police Department.

A Saratoga Avenue resident approached an officer at 7:12 a.m. on September 3 and reported two of his vehicles had been broken into overnight. He reported an HP camera worth $200 and a change purse with dollar bills and change worth about $8 were missing.

About two hours later, a resident of the same street told police she found her car's door slightly open that morning. She said it had been locked the night before. Earrings and change were missing, the resident said.

A Columbus Avenue woman walked into police headquarters that evening and said an Apple iPod worth $250 had been taken from her locked vehicle sometime overnight. She also said her vehicle had been locked, but the driver's door was ajar the following day.
