Pedestrian Hospitalized After Accident in Pleasantville

Police say the woman is in serious condition following the accident Tuesday afternoon.

A Forest Hills woman suffered "serious" injuries after she was struck by a vehicle on Pleasantville's Bedford Road this afternoon, according to police.

The Pleasantville Police Department reported receiving 911 calls beginning at 2:03 p.m. today after witnesses saw a 2009 Honda Accord strike the 67-year-old woman near the Wheeler Avenue intersection.

Police dispatched the Pleasantville Volunteer Ambulance Corps and a medic to the scene. The woman was transported to the hospital with what police described as "serious," but non life-threatening injuries.

The Honda Accord's driver, a 22-year-old resident of LaGrangeville, was not arrested, according to police.

Pleasantville's Department of Public Works was called to the scene to clean up the accident, police said.
