Photos: Hundreds Run in 3rd Tina Gambino Memorial Race
This year's memorial event also included a Fun Run at Bedford Road School for youths.
About 440 runners and walkers braved a chilly Saturday morning to take part in the third annual R.E.F.L.E.C.T.I.O.N.S. Tina Shaina Gambino Memorial 5K Run/Walk, according to Anthony Gambino.
The day included both a run and walk, as well as a Fun Run for youths at Bedford Road School. Gambino said about 80 kids participated.
Liam Harrison, 34, of Chappaqua, placed first in the 5K run, with a time of 17:12.
Pleasantville resident Meredith Kennedy, 26, was the first female to finish with a time of 20:53.
The run was born three years ago when local teen Michael Bloom decided to use the community event to help honor the memory of his late babysitter, Tina Gambino.
It has since become an annual affair that continues to grow.
Saturday "was a great success," Anthony Gambino said in an email to Patch, noting there was a "bigger crowd than last year."
