Friday: Prep for All-Day Rain as Andrea Approaches

Tropical Storm Andrea will be bringing rain all day Friday—watch for flooding during your commute.

Update, Friday 10:30 a.m.

A flood warning remains in effect.

511NY reports there is a speed restriction on I-87 in both directions on the Tappan Zee Bridge "until further notice."

"The rain could be heavy at times," the National Weather Service warns as part of Friday's forecast.

With Tropical Storm Andrea heading up the east coast, Pleasantville and Briarcliff Manor are looking at a 100 percent chance of rain/heavy rain all day tomorrow.

In the villages, the National Weather Service is predicting between one and two inches, so make sure to be on the lookout for flooding in low-lying, flood-prone areas (like the Saw Mill River Parkway) in the area.

There is a flash flood watch in effect as of this afternoon through 2 p.m. on Saturday.

An additional one to two inches is predicted for Friday night.

But you may not have to cancel your outdoor weekend plans yet—as of Thursday night, NWS is calling for a 60 percent chance of showers on Saturday, but "mainly before 9 a.m." That chance drops to 20 percent by Saturday night and Sunday.

After a clear Sunday night, the National Weather Service is predicting a 60 percent chance of thunderstorms on Monday.
