Briarcliff, Ossining Residents Picked Up on DWI Over Weekend

State police arrested two area residents.

Briarcliff Manor resident Jane C. Engel, 55, was arrested on Saturday at 7:50 p.m. and charged with DWI.

According to New York State Police, Engel was driving on State Route 35 in Somers when she was pulled over for "erratic operation."

She provided a positive breath sample which calculated her blood alcohol content at 0.15 percent.

Engel was issued traffic tickets and is scheduled to appear in Town of Somers Court on April 18.

New York State police arrested Alex Sartakov, 23, of Ossining, for DWI-Felony and Aggravated Unlicensed Operation in the First Degree yesterday.

He was arrested after being stopped on ST-118 and ST-6 in the Town of Somers for an inadequate muffler.

Police discovered Sartakov was driving while intoxicated and he his prior indicated three prior felony DWI convictions within the last 10 years.

He was also driving with a revoked license.

Sartakov refused a chemical test to determine his BAC. He was arraigned in Town of Somers Court and remanded to Westchester County Jail.

He is due back in Town of Somers Court on April 11.
