Pace Community to Pay Tribute to DJ Henry

Students continue to remember slain peer.

students gathered at the Goldstein Fitness Center this evening to pay tribute to Danroy "DJ" Henry, the 20-year-old football player who was killed one year ago tomorrow in front of a Thornwood bar.

According to a statement from the school, mini flags printed with #12, Henry's jersey number, were sold for $1 and the money from the sales, "will go towards a DJ memorial clock to be placed in front of Pace's Ann and Alfred Goldstein Health and Fitness Center with a dedication ceremony in early spring."

Earlier this month, the football held a for 70 area youths.

The student body also , who would have turned 22 on October 29, through a special edition of The Pace Chronicle, a student-run campus newspaper.

According to a Facebook description of tonight's vigil, the flags sold, "will be placed in the ground along Shirley Beth's Way" until after Henry's birthday next Saturday.
