Springtime in Paris

Where/When: Arc Stages on Saturday, May 11 from 6 to 11 p.m.

Why go: Broadway stars will be stopping by Pleasantville this weekend to perform in Arc Stages' fundraising gala. Kids from the Little Village Playhouse will also be performing. Pleasantville Mayor Peter Scherer will be hosting the gala. The evening includes cocktails, dinner and entertainment.

Briarcliff Manor Garden Club Plant Sale

Where/When: Wells Fargo parking lot on Saturday, May 11 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Why go: The Garden Club's annual plant sale includes flats of annuals, hanging baskets, pernniels, gift baskets and even baked goods.

Pleasantville Garden Club Plant Sale

Where/When: Memorial Plaza on Saturday, May 11 from 8 to 11:30 a.m.

Why go: Herbs, hanging baskets, annuals, perennials and more will be on sale in time for Mother's Day, courtesy of the Pleasantville Garden Club. Proceeds from the day's sales will benefit beautification projects throughout the village and Town of Mount Pleasant, as well as high school scholarships.

Playland Opening Day

Where/When: Playland (Playland Parkway, Rye) on Saturday, May 11 from 12 to 7 p.m.

Why go: Rye Playland is opening for its 86th season complete with its rides, concessions and entertainment. The Boardwalk and Pier remain under construction due to Sandy damage.

Pricing: $30/rides, $20/junior, $10/spectator, free for ages two and under 

Card-Making for Kids

Where/When: 48 Macy Rd., Briarcliff Manor (former Recreation Center) on Saturday, May 11 from 2 to 3 p.m.

Why go: It's From Me's Linda Sugrue is offering a Mother's Day card-making workshop for kids grades two and up and a grown up. Click here for a registration form.

Introduction to Composting

Where/When: Mount Pleasant Public Library on Thursday, May 9 from 7 to 8 p.m.

Why go: PleasantvilleRecycles members are marking "Pleasantville Compost Awareness Week" with inside secrets about composting in your backyard. Come with questions about the process and equipment. All levels are welcome.

Festival de Primavera

Where/When: Sleepy Hollow Country Club on Saturday, May 11 at 6:30 p.m.

Why go: The Neighbor's Link gala includes cocktails, dinner and a live auction in a formal setting to benefit the non-profit organization that serves immigrant families in Northern Westchester. Click here to purchase tickets.

Mother's Day Birds and Bagels

Where/When: Westmoreland Sanctuary (260 Chestnut Ridge Rd. Mount Kisco) on Sunday, May 12 from 9 to 10 a.m.
