Pace Lax Players Coach Local Youth

Pace draws 85 young athletes to annual Youth Lacrosse Day in Pleasantville.

PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y.- The Pace University Lacrosse team hosted "Pace Lacrosse Youth Day" Saturday morning on Pace Field of the Pleasantville campus. In total, 85 youth lacrosse players attended the event. Each participant received a Pace Lacrosse Youth Day t-shirt, team photo for autographs and schedule cards. All youth lacrosse players in attendance were split into groups by age and put into drills run by the current team and coaching staff. The clinic ran for one hour followed by pizza and refreshments for all in attendance prior to the Pace vs. Bentley game at 1:00 pm. Each youth lacrosse player in attendance was able to participate in a high five tunnel as the team ran onto the field to take on Bentley. Youth lacrosse players arrived from towns across Westchester County including Pleasantville, Briarcliff, Croton and Brewster for the clinic.

The Pace Lacrosse team went on to win 9-6 over Bentley to conclude the day with big contributions from senior Matt Mirabito (Binghamton, NY/Broome CC) who had  three goals and two assists along with junior Matt Gebhardt  (West Islip, NY/ West Islip) who had  two goals and three assists.

The next game for the Pace Lacrosse team will be Wednesday April 3 at 7:00 pm as they hit the road to take on American International in Springfield, MA. The next home game for the Setters is Saturday April 6 at 1:00 pm against St. Michael's. The game on April 6 will feature the lacrosse edition of the "Pace Goes Pink" campaign. The 2013 edition t-shirt will be sold for $5 by Colleges against Cancer with all proceeds going to the Northern Westchester Hospital Breast Institute.
