Ossining's Sadan to Launch Book, Exhibit in Pleasantville

Mark Sadan's new book and photography exhibit will debut at local bookstore and coffee shop.

"...the spirit of the dancers before,
Unknown, and known, Isadora Duncan, Ruth St. Dennis,
Martha Graham, Carolyn Carlson, Nijinsky, Nuryev, Morris...

All a dream from Bottecelli, the Pre-Raphaelites
The pictorialists... Julia Margaret Cameron...
So to those who danced, to those who will see
These images of light and shadow...
This is my gift to you"

Mark Sadan, an Ossining resident and photographer, will be on-hand at on Sunday to sign copies of his new book, The Eternal Springtime of the Heart.

The excerpt above is from his book, which includes 36 images inspired by the film Children of Spring.

According to a statement from Sadan, he created the film 30 years ago after he graduated from New York University's Film School.

At the time he was making live action films for Sesame Street and began "working with several choreographers and their dance companies in Westchester, including Greta Levart of Manhattanville, Liz Rockwell, Rondo Dance Company, The Steffi Nossen Dancers and Iris Merrick's Westchester Ballet Company."

A photo exhibit by the same name of the book will be on display at  on Wheeler Avenue from July 1 to 26.

Stop by the Village Bookstore to meet Sadan and pick up a copy of the book.
