Pleasantville Library Remains Closed for Construction

No late fees for Mount Pleasant Public Library books while the library is closed.

The 's roof replacement project will continue into this week.

Over the weekend, library officials updated the library's blog, which states, "The closing of the Main Library, and the extended hours of service at the Branch Library, will continue through the week of August 6.

We hope to be able to announce a re-opening date later in the week. Please check back for updates."

In the interim, the Valhalla branch of the library (125 Lozza Dr.) has remained open with extended hours:

  • Mon 10-8
  • Tues 10-8
  • Wed 10-8
  • Thurs 10-8
  • Fri 10-5
  • Sat 10-2

The two libraries are a joint entity through the Village of Pleasantville and Town of Mount Pleasant. to the roof replacement project. In addition, a state grant added more than $241,000 to the project, expected to total nearly $600,000.

The project is part of a introduced by the library for the 1967 building, that could also include parking lot and other improvements to the site.

Because the library will not be open today, the band concert has been moved to the FD headquarters on Washington Avenue at 7:30 p.m. Additionally, "Photography for the Garden Enthusiast" (Monday) and ESOL (Tuesday) have been canceled.
