Harrison Native Turns 103 in Style

On Saturday, Harrison native and graduate Henry Krell celebrated his 103rd birthday.

Krell currently lives at in Briarcliff Manor and enjoyed a party with live music, family and his fellow Atria residents.

"I couldn't believe it. That was some party!" he said in a statement. "I never had a party like that before!"

Krell grew up with his three sisters and brother in Harrison and worked with his father as an interior decorator after high school.

He married in 1942 and had four children. His daughter Wendy Krell was in attendance at Saturday's birthday party.

Krell continued in the interior decorating industry until the age of 60 when he retired.

"Don't drink too much, don't eat too much, don't worry too much; everything in moderation!" Krell said is his secret to a long, happy life.

He continues to read the newspaper and follow national sports for leisure at Atria.
