Obituary: David Reid Mackintosh

The former Briarcliff Manor resident was involved in the village's Little League and Boy Scouts.

David Reid Mackintosh of Ossining, NY, formerly of Briarcliff Manor, NY, died on November 6, 2012 at his home.

He was 84. He was educated In Manhattan and graduated from Stuyvesant High School and New York University.

Mr. Mackintosh worked as an Executive Vice President for Advertizing and Marketing Research Companies in New York City and Westchester.

David was born January 13, 1928 in New York City to James and Helen Stevens Mackintosh. On May 8, 1954 he married Natalie Holmes in Mount Vernon, NY.

While a resident of Briarcliff Manor, he served as Chairman of the Environmental Advisory Council in the 1970s, coached Little League and was active with the Scouts.

David will be remembered for his great sense of humor and as a beloved husband, father and grandfather. He is survived by his wife Natalie, three children Barbara Mackintosh and her husband Al Walters, Bill Mackintosh (Trisha Nemtuda) and Virginia Mackintosh and her husband Dan Ruben, daughter in law Donna Mackintosh and five grandchildren Katie and Natalie Mackintosh, Emily and Megan Prince and David Gatter, three cousins Ken Stevens, Larry Whitney and Vicki Shafer.

A Celebration of his life will take place at 1 p.m. on Saturday, November 10, 2012 at the Tuscan Grille, 518 North State Rd., Briarcliff Manor, NY 10510. Memorial contributions can be sent to the Rotary Club of Ossining , Scholarship Fund, PO Box 488, Ossining, NY 10562.
