Readers' Choice Winner: Moonbean Cafe

Congratulations to Briarcliff Manor's Moonbean Cafe for earning the most votes in this week's !

Of the seven choices scattered throughout Pleasantville and Briarcliff Manor, received 27 percent of the votes.

Pleasantville's was close behind with 22 percent.

Moonbean Cafe Owner Abigail Wallace said she was excited to hear Moonbean was recognized for its smoothies.

"That's such good news," she said. It's really nice to hear."

Moonbean Cafe, which has been open since 2004, has two vendors that supply smoothie ingredients, including Big Train, which uses fresh fruit.

"We make them here—some with yogurt and some with actual green tea, so there's extra antioxidants," she shared. "There's no corn syrup or anything."

Among the smoothie flavors offered by Moonbean area strawberry, mango, pina colada, lemon, banana, wild berry and acai.

"You can also mix any of the flavors together," added Wallace. "I like the strawberry banana."

While the smoothies are clearly a big hit with locals, Moonbean Cafe also offers a full menu of lunch items, including wraps and paninis; as well as baked goods and a unique selection of iced and hot coffees—including Hawaiian Coconut and French Vanilla—on a daily basis.

However, Wallace said with a and "right across 9A, it's the customer service" that keeps people coming back.

"The customers know us. We've had the same employees for years," she said.
