Briarcliff Manor Police Blotter: Boyfriend/Girlfriend Disputes; Alleged Identity Theft

A summary of police activity from February 21 – 27, 2011.

Sunday, Feb. 27

4:08 p.m. — A gas odor was reported at an Admiral Wordens Lane residence in the garage. Fire units determined the situation was not dangerous and the case was closed.

3:23 a.m. — A woman called police to report an unwated ex-boyfriend had showed up at her Beechwood Way residence. The man had left the scene by the time police arrived. A report of the incident was taken.

Saturday, Feb. 26

6:13 p.m. — A Willow Drive resident reported losing a diamond off a piece of jewerly in the village. A report of the incident was taken for insurance purposes.

Friday, Feb. 25

9:07 p.m. — A caller reported driving over a pothole in the village and sustaining a flat tire as a result. The county was notified of the pothole and responded to fix it shortly after.

4:50 p.m. — Police were notified about a potential identity theft, where an unknown party had attempted to open a credit card in a resident's name. The case was passed along to the detective for follow up.

2:07 p.m. — A minor dispute was reported and resolved shortly after.

8:55 a.m. — An three-car accident was reported on Route 9A at Route 100. Although reports indicate there were injuries at the scene, no one appears to have been hospitalized as a result. A report was taken.

Thursday, Feb. 24

7:10 a.m. Police responded to the scene of a three-car motor vehicle accident on Route 9A, where one passenger car ended up off-road. You can read more about the incident .

Wednesday, Feb. 23

3:16 p.m. — A dispute was reported on Hickory Road. Responding officers reported the dispute was between a girlfriend and boyfriend and was resolved prior to the officers' arrival. The incident was noted for the record.

2:45 p.m. — A party turned in license plates that were found without a vehicle to police. A report was taken.

2:13 p.m. — A man was placed under arrest at police headquarters on a warrant. No details regarding the nature of the charge were available.

Tuesday, Feb. 22

2:05 a.m. — A caller a suspicous incident on Macy Road, where a neighbor's garage door was open. Police determined everything was in order.

Monday, Feb. 21

8:33 a.m. — Police received a phone call reporting a motor vehicle accident on Route 9A, but found no evidence of an accident at the scene.
