Briarcliff Manor Police: Underage Drinking; Shoplifting

The following is from the police department. Arrests do not indicate convictions.

Here's a look at some of the recent incidents investigated by the Briarcliff Manor Police Department:

Underage Drinking Party
Police received a report of a disturbance on Greenwood Court just before 11:30 p.m. on September 2. Police responded and reported seeing several teenagers running through a backyard.

Officers then entered the home and found an underage drinking party involving about 10 teenagers without any adults present. Parents were called to the scene to pick up their children and the homeowner, who was out of town, was also notified. The detective is investigating the incident.

Necklace Stolen
A Pleasantville Road business reported to police at 1:58 p.m. on September 4 that someone had entered the store about 20 minutes ago and left with a necklace. The employee said the necklace is worth $175.

The case is under investigation.

Kids Call Cops on Mother
Police responded to an Austin Place residence at 10:20 p.m. on September 2 after they received a call from youths reporting a dispute with their mother.

Responding officers reported separating the parties and sending the children to spend the night with their father. A domestic complaint was filed.

Five Vehicle Accident
A teenaged passenger was hospitalized after a five-car accident on Route 9 at 5 p.m. on September 9.

Police reported a car stopped short near the River Road intersection, causing four vehicles behind it to hit each other in a rear-end fashion.

A 16-year-old female passenger was hospitalized with a neck injury, police said.
