Pleasantville: Holiday Parking Rules in Effect Dec. 1

The familiar green bags will cover parking meters in the villages; time limits remain in effect.

As the frantic shopping and other stresses of the holiday season begin, the Village of Pleasantville is taking one everyday burden off your plate.

Beginning tomorrow, the parking meters in the village will be covered with Panther-green covers indicating the free holiday parking season is underway.

While that means you won't have to dig for quarters every time you park downtown, posted time limits do remain in effect—so be sure to check street signs. Twelve-hour meters must still be fed.

Mayor Peter Scherer also announced at the last board of trustees meeting, "You cannot park on the street all night, so it is possible to remove snow" during the winter season.

"I would hate to see anyone get a ticket for overnight on-street parking," he reiterated.

The free parking bags will stay up through Christmas Day—Tuesday, Dec. 25, 2012.
