Last Chance: Register for Prospective School Board Workshop, Village Recreation Activities

A roundup of upcoming deadlines for Briarcliff Manor and Pleasantville residents.

We know residents in Pleasantville and Briarcliff have busy lives, so we want to make things a little easier by reminding you about those approaching deadlines. WHAT: The Westchester-Putnam School Boards Association (WPSBA) is sponsoring its annual Prospective School Board Member Workshop this Thursday evening, March 29 from 5:45 to 9:30 p.m. at the Education House (5 Homeside Ln.) in White Plains. There are  on the school board. Board President Lois Winkler recommends anyone interested in running for the board check out this workshop. Two school board seats are expiring this year as well.

DEADLINE: All interested participants must register by Wednesday, March 28. You can do so electronically at www.wpsba.org.

Pleasantville Spring/Summer Recreation Programs

WHAT: Registration for the Village of Pleasantville's spring and summer recreation programs began Saturday at . Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis. Registrants must be at least 18-years-old and can only register for their family. Registration for senior programs is taking place at the . DEADLINE: Registration for all spring and summer programs continues through Friday, March 30 from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.—in-person only.

Briarcliff Manor Zumba, Pilates for Beginners

WHAT: Briarcliff Manor's recreation department is hosting Zumba and pilates for beginners classes at . this season. Zumba will be held on Wednesday from April 11 to June 13. All classes are from 9:15 to 10:15 a.m. The 10 classes are taught by Adrienne Vettorino and cost $120 for village residents, $130 for school district residents and non-village residents. Drop-in participants pay $15/class. Pilates taught by Ellen Ronis, is on Monday evenings from April 9 to June 18 (no class May 28) from 7 to 8 p.m. Classes are $140 for village residents and $150 for school district and non-village residents. Registration is on a first-come, first-serve basis.

DEADLINE: Register by Friday, March 30 in person or by mailing registration information to the recreation department (3 Library Rd).
