Pace Pleasantville Turns 50

"50 Years, 50,000 Stories" was the theme of the Pleasantville campus' anniversary celebration this week.

From Pace University:

Pace University’s Pleasantville campus kicked off its 50th anniversary celebration Monday, September 16 with an event held on the lawn in the center of campus. Students enjoyed a Beatles tribute band called Beatles Faux Sale, food and cake to commemorate the milestone. Student contests included hula hoop and bubble gum blowing competitions.

Pace University President Stephen J. Friedman spoke of the rich history of the campus while looking to the future as Pace prepares to break ground next month on a major revitalization of the campus that includes new residence halls, expanded dining hall, environmental center and athletic facilities and a central campus green.

“Thousands of people have met here, been educated here and launched successful careers here,” Friedman said.  “Many have fallen in love here and married. And each one has a story to tell as the tagline of the 50th anniversary celebration reflects: 50 Years, 50,000 Stories.”

The Pace cheerleaders and mascot T-Bone were driven to the event in the 50th anniversary commemorative bus after appearing on air as part of the lively crowd at NBC’s The Today Show in Rockefeller Plaza.
