Pace's Rowland Named to All-Academic Team

PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. - The Northeast-10 Conference has announced that volleyball senior Elyse Rowland (Antioch, CA/Deer Valley) has been selected to the All-Academic Team for the Fall 2012 season. Rowland was selected as the NE-10 Libero of the Year for a second consecutive season this past fall as well as being an All-Region selection.

Rowland was picked as one of 87 student-athletes representing all 16 Northeast-10 institutions received Academic All-Conference selection for the fall season for their outstanding achievements in the classroom and on the playing field.  The Northeast-10 Academic All-Conference teams are chosen by a committee vote of Faculty Athletic Representatives (FARs) and other athletic administrators.

To be eligible for selection to the Northeast-10 Academic All-Conference Teams, a student-athlete must have met and/or exceeded the following minimum requirements: 1) participated in at least half of the team's competitions and been either a starter or significant contributor; 2) achieved a 3.30 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale); and 3) completed at least one academic year at his/her current institution.

Not only did Rowland have an impressive fall season in the classroom, but on the court as well as she was named to the AVCA Division II All-East Region Team this year for the second time in her collegiate career. Rowland earned the 2012 Northeast-10 Conference Libero of the Year for the second consecutive year in a row as well as a First Team All-Conference selection. Rowland led the Northeast-10 with 664 digs, which was nearly 100 more than the second-place finisher. Her 5.15 digs per set also was top in the league and also was the East Region. Rowland is the Pace all-time leader in digs in the rally scoring era and ranks second in all-time digs with 2,158.
