Pleasantville Lax Bests Briarcliff at Saw Mill Slugfest

The Pleasantville boys varsity team defeated Briarcliff on Saturday.

In a full day of boys lacrosse Saturday, Pleasantville's varsity, junior varsity and modified teams beat out rival Briarcliff Manor.

The took shape for the first year, with the varsity Panthers dominating the Bears, 12-3.

In the varsity matchup that ended the day, Brendan Halloran of Pleasantville was named MVP, with four goals and three assists for the Panthers. 

Kyle O'Loughlin also added three goals and an assist for the home team; along with Charlie Montgomery's two goals and one assist, Greg Drillock's one goal and three assists and Owen Reda's two goals. Reda also won 13 out of his 17 face-offs during the game.

For the Bears, Matt Ballini, Bend Adler and Ricky Grassey each contributed a goal.

Russell Cocozza has 12 saves for the Bears, while Pleasantville's Christopher Doerr had five.

In addition to the varsity matchup, Pleasantville's JV squad beat out Briarcliff 15-5, while the modified team won 6-1 over the Bears.

Briarcliff's third and fourth grade team won out over Pleasantville, 8-2.

The fifth and sixth graders also played a game, with Pleasantville ultimately coming out on top, 3-2.
