Fire and Ice Skate-a-Thon

Where/When: Westchester Skating Academy (91 Fairview Park Dr. Elmsford) on Friday, March 15 from 7:30 to 10 p.m.

Why go: Organized by Briarcliff High School's Nikki Metzger, the 6th annual skate-a-thon will raise funds for the Dysautonomia Youth Network of America. If you donate at least $25, your admission, skate rentals and a cup of hot chocolate are free. Table Tennis Friendship Tournament

Where/When: Westchester Table Tennis Center on Saturday, March 16 from 4 to 7 p.m.

Why go: Pleasantville's table tennis venue is hosting the International Table Tennis Federation’s International Women's Day Celebration to celebrate the accomplishments of women and girls in the world of table tennis. Both men and women are welcome. Donations benefit Hope's Door in Pleasantville. Competitions will be held in three categories: girls 14 and under, ladies 50 and over and women's open (ages 15 to 49). Wear pink for photos! Food, clothing and toiletry donations are being collected for Hope's Door.

Argo Screening

Where/When: Briarcliff Manor Public Library on Friday, March 15 at 7 p.m.

Why go: Check out the recent Oscar-winning flick starring and directed by Ben Affleck. The film is rated R. Light refreshments served. Registration is recommended: email sglick@wlsmail.org or call 941-7072.

Haroset Tasting and Making

Where/When: Rosenthal Jewish Community Center of Northern Westchester on Sunday, March 17 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Why go: Prep for Passover by marking a feast of haroset—families will make different kinds and vote for the best. There will also be a haroset bowl craft that you can take home.

Pricing: $10/child or $20/family

UMAC Kick-a-Thon

Where/When: Brookside Elementary School (30 Ryder Rd., Ossining) on Saturday, March 16 from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Why go: United Martial Arts Centers Briarcliff's annual kick-a-thon raises funds to benefit the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Last year, more than $30,000 was raised for LLS. Students ages four through 70 will be completing 1,000 kicks on Saturday. There will also be a demo contest with raffle prizes and a bake sale.

Pricing: $5 suggested donation

The Mulligan's at Lucy's

Where/When: Lucy's Lounge on Saturday, March 16 from 9:30 p.m. to 12 a.m.

Why go: Live music by the Mulligan's in Pleasantville this weekend—stop by and dance to a mix of classic and comtemporary rock.

Palooza Continues at PCS

Where/When: Pleasantville Community Synagogue on Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday (varying times)

Why go: PCS' Third Annual Palooza continues Thursday with a talk entitled "Jerusalem: From Ottomon Empire to Israeli Sovereignty" with Prof. Sarah Tauber at 7:30 p.m. Friday is a pajama shabbat and dinner, children's service and live music from the house band. Saturday begins with meditation at 9 a.m. and famiy education shabbat. Visit the synagogue's website for more information.
