Pleasantville Sex Assault Case Comes to a Close After 2 Years

The 32-year old Oswaldo Jacinto-Ordonez will be sentenced to eight years in state prison.

The case of the 32-year old Pleasantville man who fled police after sexually assaulting a woman more than two years ago has come to a close, Pleasantville Police announced Wednesday, Nov. 27.

Police reported the arrest and conviction of Oswaldo Jacinto-Ordonez, a 32-year old illegal Guatemalan immigrant who was wanted in connection of the attempted rape of a 28-year old Pleasantville resident on Aug. 9, 2011.

On May 9, I.C.E Agents located Jacinto-Ordonez in South Kingstown, Rhode Island, living under an alias. He was taken into custody, waived extradition, and was returned to New York to face prosecution.

Jacinto-Ordonez pled guilty to one count of attempted rape in the first degree, a class C felony, and one count of strangulation in the second degree, a class D felony. He will be sentenced on Jan. 14, 2014 to eight years in state prison, along with 15 years of post-release supervision and registered as a sexual offender.

“I would like to thank our detectives, the Department of Homeland Security, the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement Agency and the Westchester County District Attorney’s office for their combined dedication in bringing this violent felon to justice,” Pleasantville Chief of Police Richard Love said.
