Pleasantville Police: Dine & Dash; Broken Fence

The following information is from the police department. Arrests do not indicate convictions.

Here's a look at some of the recent incidents investigated by the Pleasantville Police Department:

Baseball Through Windshield

A Hopper Street resident called police on June 22 and reported that while her vehicle was parked in her driveway that day, a baseball from Parkway Field had broken her Toyota Yaris' rear windshield.

The caller told police the person responsible had agreed to pay for the damage.

Dine and Dash Resolved

Police received a call from a Pleasantville Diner employee at 9 p.m. on June 18 reporting patrons had left the business without paying for their meal.

Police were able to track down the subjects, who returned and paid without further incident.

Fence Damaged

A Bedford Road resident went into police headquarters at 11:15 a.m. on June 21 and reported the picket fence in front of his home had been damaged sometime overnight.

A detective was assigned to the case.

Man Surrenders to Police

A 55-year-old Pleasantville man accused of keeping thousands of dollars in cash and pounds of marijuana in his Washington Avenue home turned himself into police at 10:02 a.m. on June 21 with an attorney present.

Sign Disturbed

A Bedford Mews resident called police at 9:30 a.m. on June 23 and reported a wooden sign had been knocked over overnight. The sign's wooden post is valued at $50.

Disorderly Man on BeeLine Bus

Police received a call at 5:14 p.m. on June 24 reporting a disorderly patron on a BeeLine bus at the intersection of Grant Street and Memorial Plaza.

The bus driver told police the man had caused a scene on the bus and left the scene before police arrived.

The man's mother arrived at the scene shortly after and said she was concerned because he is a "violent drunk."

While police were speaking with the mother, the man—a 53-year-old Yorktown resident—arrived and told police he left because he did not want to be arrested. He stated he wanted to go home and would seek alcohol rehab treatment in the morning.

The mother and son took a cab about to their home in Yorktown Heights.

Mailbox Damaged

A Pierce Drive resident reported on June 16 that someone had knocked down the home's mailbox sometime overnight or prior to 9 a.m. that morning.

Suspended License Arrest

Police reported stopping a vehicle on Marble Avenue the night of June 14.

The driver, a 39-year-old Pleasantville man, was arrested and charged with operating a vehicle with a suspended driver's license.
